Paula Scher: Works

Over the holidays, a good friend gifted me Paula Scher: Works. I first heard Scher’s name in college, mostly in conversations tied to Pentagram (where she’s a partner). Over the years, I read more, admired more, and then somehow—took her design genius for granted, and then kind of, dare I say...forgot about her. Then came her episode of Abstract on Netflix, and suddenly, I was reminded: Oh right, she’s still out here, distilling chaos into clarity, making complexity look effortless, and setting the standards very high. Her work sits at that rare intersection of fine art and pure functionality—deceptively simple, excruciatingly difficult to pull off. If you, like me, need a reminder of why Paula Scher remains a design legend, do yourself a favor and check out her latest book here.
